In Hungary the following species has greater relevance from the aspect of industrial use: sycamore maple (Acer pseudoplatanus), norway maple (Acer platanoides) and field maple (Acer campestre). They are mainly common in mixed forests, can be found also in highlands. The structure of the timber is homogen, middle dense.
Its most common use is furniture and veneer industry but maple is also the raw material of parquet industry and music instrument production. Maple timber can be carved well.
